Try a boot time scan with avast, if you're on a 32bit system.
You can also use free FileAssassin to get rid of the blocked file.

Or use free Mbam to rescan and remove the threat.

There are many legitimate reasons for this and without the file name, location and malware name (assuming it is malware, which it may not be). I suspect it may simply have been unable to be scanned and the reason given is access denied, so we need more information.

What is the file name, where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

I'm downloading MBAM. Should I delete Avast before I use MBAM?
