Avast stopped working/Security Master AV notification
« on: June 08, 2010, 07:46:57 PM »
Hi there,

Can you help? I was just online and all of a sudden I got a notification from Security Master AV telling me I have 24 potential threats found including:

Trojan-Spy.html.citifraud
Trojan-PSW.Win32.Dripper / Delf.d / Hooker
Virus.BAT.IBBM.CIsV
and others

when I went to go into Avast it won't open, internet won't work (I'm on someone elses laptop) neither will malwarebytes.

Is Security Master AV part of Avast? When I click option to remove all threats it just brings me to a site to buy upgrated packages ( I have the free version). What can I do?

Thanks a million,

Sandy

Not part of Avast!, no.
This is a rouge AV, a fake.
You can try following this guide

I'd love to meet someone who makes these rouges......introduce myself in a very physical way.
