I did update the virus definitions last night too (I do manual, and know how to change the service in services, it has always been that way). It was IAVS update only. So, 2 things involved. Not just McAfee (I thinkd it stopped working after the IAVS update).
Avast 4.8 professionalMcAfee Security Center and Firewall (the Security Center configures the firewall).Using firefox and NoscriptBefore, Script blocking ran if McAfee launched, or if a script was launched in Firefox. Now, nothing.
Ok, this is more a workaround, but the easiest way would be to deactivate the script blocking in avast as you already use the Firefox add-on NoScript...! It does the same (and more!!) and is quite configurable..!Nevertheless, you should update your avast to 5.0.545 soon...!asyn
1. However, they are saying there is a problem with system restore and other things, which needs to be fixed. 2. Don't I need script blocking for the computer itself?
