Hello,

I would like to ask you some help, please :)

Yesterday I cleaned my computer with CCleaner, then I rebooted my computer.
When the computer re-started, the shields of avast 5.0.545 were inactive and I had to launch them by myself by clicking on the button to launch them.
I have found many threads about that problem so I did what they suggested....
I have rebooted in safe mode, I uninstalled avast with aswclear5, then I used Ccleaner, I rebooted in normal mode and I installed again avast. But when rebooting, the shields are inactive, and I have to launch them by myself again.
I uninstalled it with "add/remove programs" then I rebooted in safe mode, I used aswclear5, used CCleaner and rebooted twice and installed again avast 5 but the problem happened again.
I scanned my computer with avast and malwarebyte's antimalware and they don't find anything.
So I don't understand what happens  ???

I use windows XP sp3, avast is updated. I tried to use the "repair" function too.

Thank you very much in anticipation,

- avra -

Sorry, I didn't write it ....

There are not other security related programs.

I only use avast.

I use a few times a week Malwarebyte's antimalware, and I use CCleaner after each attack that avast blocks to be sure.

And the shields started to be inactive when starting the compter after 2 attacks (but they were pop ups) that avast blocked. So I used CCleaner to remove all the internet temporary files and the problem with avast started when I rebooted after using CCleaner  :-[

It looks like if some avast parts were still in the registry even after aswclear5, the "add/remove programs", CCleaner. Or parts anywhere else.

Thank you very much  :)
Well, it is strange, the shields start automatically now but it takes a little time.
When the computer starts, when avast opens, the shields are inactive during approximately 10 seconds before automatically starting.
I don't remember that it happened like that before, as soon as avast opened, the shields were active.
Maybe is it normal now ?

2. Maybe is it normal now ?

1. You're welcome..!
2. Well, it'll always take some time to start something up... ;)
(To prevent conflicts with other programs go to: settings - troubleshooting - check to start avast after other system software...)

Thank you very much for your help.

With the new version, the shields start automatically, but with the previous version, as I wrote, they didn't start, even if I waited.

So the problem is resolved :)

Thank you very much again,

Have a great day, ....
