can't update virus definition

about 10 minutes ago, i checked Avast! update history and found virus definitions version : 24.6.2010 - 100624-1

My avast has version 100624-0. When i did manual update, it says, my virus definitions are already uptodate. i reboot my PC and the same thing happens.

i dont have any firewall, just default from windows, and avast is the only my AV (i have MBAM too)


any help?

What does the avast Maintenance screen say, mine still shows 100624-0, see image, but a manual update did download 100624-1, image2.

Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. This has in the past resolved this out of sync issue between reported and actual VPS version.

strange...after did a couple of reboot and couple of manual update, (maybe about 5 or 6 reboot) and i also changed the settings :  i ticked "my computer is permanently connect to internet", the VPS updated itself.



edit : i did David instruction to repair the avast too (but after the VPS updated itself) Just to make sure anything is ok.

The official web page on occasion is behind that of the release of the latest update, though they do try to have it updated at the same time.

umm...yeah. sorry, i'm just a casual user, not the advance one. Sometimes little problem like this makes me worried, and get confuse. (seriously...it is)

i think the update takes time for user to get it. (yeah, about 30 minutes later after i rebooted the PC several times, the automatic update run, and i got the newest version without problem.)
