Avast keeps getting cut off
« on: July 01, 2010, 04:58:31 PM »
Something keeps cutting my avast free off every day or so. I see the warning in the tool bar and have to open it and tell avast to "Fix". Has anyone experienced this? I also run Spybot and Advanced System Care Pro.

Thanks
Galen

Spybot has shown up as an issue/conflict

You can replace it with free Mbam...!

Galen if you are running Spybots tea timer and Advanced System Care
Pro real time, it would probably be the reason Avast keeps getting cut
off. Disable both products and see what happens.

I agree with all of the above.  You have too many conflicting software.

Delete ASC Pro, which depending on what version you have also has ZA AV in it.  This will conflict with Avast.  In addition ASC does a lot of system restores.  I would replace it with CCleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds, which is light on your system and is more efficient.

Delete Spybot as many on the forum have reported issues with it, and as mentioned in earlier posts replace it with free MBAM, which is more efficient and light on your system http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php.

Disabling your conflicting software will not resolve your problem since you still have the registries on your machine; you need to delete it.

Make sure you have the lastest build of Avast (5.0.594) and are current with the virus definition updates.

Please report back.
