bardiscover.dll virus
« on: July 05, 2010, 08:52:36 PM »
With every scan, Avast tells me a virus was discovered.  The scan log shows the bardiscover.dll virus, but shows an error when I tell it to delete it.  Is this a real virus...can it be removed?

Run a boot time scan, if you use a 32bit system.

Where was it found and what was the malware name given e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx, malware name) ?

What reason was given in these errors for why it couldn't be removed/moved ?

A google search for the file name gives many hits where this is either suspect or a confirmed piece of malware, trojan, etc. So I believe the detection is good.

Hello David R.

It was found at C:\Windows\Temp\Bar3947.tmp\upgrade.exe>$0\bardiscover.dll, and the reason for removal failure is, Error: There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint map...

Thank you,
Lilred

Either just clear your Temp folder (see below) or find and delete this file C:\Windows\Temp\Bar3947.tmp\upgrade.exe as the file is within that archive .exe.

CCleaner - Temp File Cleaner, etc.

A deeper them remover is: Temp File Cleaner, specially for malware infection.
