Could you be more specific ?
What happens if you click on download ?
Where do you try to download from ?
Which browser do you use ? Which operating system ?
Is javascript enabled ?

Hi mustangpaulie
Welcome to the Forums.
Are you able to download anything at all? Please give us some info about your computer and operating system. Are you currently running any other AV program and/or Firewall?

Thanks for the quick replies guys; specifics are as follows:

Windows Me
Pentium 3

Javascript is enabled, and I'm using Internet Explorer 6 over a cable modem.

I'm running AVG, with SpyBot and AdAware installed-- from the reports these send back, my computer has more viruses than the water in Calcutta. Both AVG and and RAV list a number of bad files, but can do nothing to clean them.

I tried downloading the english language version from the main site, and the result is an endless series of clicks as the page is redirected to itself over and over again.

Alrighty guys, I really appreciate anything yall might be able to offer here.

Do you use system-restore in ME ?
If so, could it be possible that you haven't disabled it during your efforts to let AVG get rid of the malware ?
Just a thought...

As for running system restore, I run AVG from a dos prompt; will disabling it have an effect? (And this may really undercut any cred I ever hoped to have on the boards... I don't know how to disable it :'(

If you keep system-restore enabled during the scan, after reboot windows will restore your system back in its infected state again.
I don't say this is the cause of your problem, but it could be one of the reasons AVG (which is also a good av-prog) can't clean it.
I'll look it up somewhere how to disable it.
Be back in a minute or two.
Bye

Installing anti-virus on a infected system is not a good idea. It most likely get infected during install and becomes worthless. I suggest you run 2 (3?) online scanners to remove at least the majority of the viruses you have before installing anything. Instead of a online scanner you can also get the BART cd (there is a trial which fully works). Get it on a clean system, create the cd and put it in your system. Boot from the cd and scan the whole system.
