avast gui confused?

my avast 5 notifies the update to version 6 wrongly as 5.0.1000. see image below. also i dwnlded avast6 from avast website and wat i got is 52mb setup of avast5 and not avast6!

Have you rebooted yet ?

If not do so.

If you have - Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You may need to reboot after the repair. This has in the past resolved this out of sync issue between reported and actual version.

No problem, it looks like it has been taking some time to get all the download servers and locations updated to version 6. That happened to me first time round, just 5.1.889.
