Virus in Windows System
« on: August 14, 2004, 01:34:19 AM »
c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\dp-him.exe

I have several virus reports that they are found in exe files in my Windows System.  Any ideas on how to fix this.  Is it dangerous to delete the file when it is a part of my system?  Am at a serious loss.  First time I have used the Avasti.  Am using trial at the moment.
Thank you os much for your help.

In order for me to determine what you must do, I need to know the filenames of the "exe files" .

Some may not be actual virus infections but what is referred to as false positives.

Let me know.

Hi,

please read the link "VirusRemoval" below in my Signature, then come back with more Infos, especially:
- virus name(s)
- location/path/filename
- result of Onlinescanners
- a hijackthis-Log
- what WIN-Version you have
- what avast version (VPS) you have ;)
