Auto resetting of settings when booting
« on: July 14, 2003, 09:18:45 PM »
I have just reformatted my hard drive, which operates on Windows 98.

After installing avast! 4 (latest update) I opened the Resident Task Settings window and checked "Install note into clean message" and "Show detailed info on performed action" boxes.

Every time I re-boot these boxes are reset to their default unchecked status.

I don't know whether this was happening before I formatted the hard drive, as the update to version 4.0-235 had not been done for long and I may just not have noticed that I was not getting the pop-up confirmations.

Any one got any thoughts ?

Just adding a note myself to bring my little query back into the limelight.  (It had disappeared to half way down page 3 !).

If you are all lying awake at night trying to come up with a solution, I do appreciate it, but please it is not that important.

However, if anyone can give me the answer I should be ever so grateful  ;D

Thanks a lot.        JOHN
