I'm afraid the forum is glitching oddly every time. It's acting like I'm trying to make a new post utterly empty of information. So, workaround get!

I guess that log didn't help? If this can't get fixed, I'm really going to have to swap to something else. But I've had horrendous luck with antivirus programs, and I'd rather not swap unless I have to.

I was traveling and couldn't analyze it. Give me some time.
Maybe someone from avast team could help!

A real pain trying to download it... Please, upload here (200kb of limit) or post the last 400-500 lines of the file.

MidnightVoyager, I can't find anything wrong in your log.
What exactly is happening with avast at startup right now?

The same exact thing as always. No icon. If I click anything and say to scan it, it says it's not on. I have to turn it on every startup.

Any old antivirus installed in this machine?

No. No other antivirus, yes, I have already uninstalled it with the uninstaller and then installed it fresh, I installed this on a completely clean system, it's Windows 7 34 bit, I installed it on an admin account, I have not installed any new firewalls, I haven't had firewalls installed before, I used Windows firewall, Malware and viruses are not the problem as this happened out of the box on a fresh system install without internet connection, and I've done absolutely everything anyone has asked me to do while troubleshooting.

Do I just need a new antivirus program? Because I'm answering the same questions and all anyone will tell me is that it works for them and that it's compatible with 7.

Avast IS installed. It installed fine. Installing was not the problem, it just won't run itself on boot. I have to start it up manually every time. It's terribly frustrating.

Well... Is any tool deleting avastUI.exe from startup?
If you run it manually, will the icon appear? Is the protection on?

If I run it manually, it works fine. Nothing is deleting it from startup. I can even find the startup entry in my registry. It just doesn't actually start up.

Did you uncheck the option for the icon on system tray?
