Avast causes control panel to crash/freeze
« on: August 07, 2010, 02:18:26 PM »
after much troubleshooting, ive determined that avast is causing control panel to freezes

i've came to this conclusion by going through msconfig and disable/enable each startup until i find what causes the issue

it is a brand new dell 15r notebook

specs:
core i5-450m
6gb ram
intel hd graphic
windows 7 pro 64bit

i did a clean install so no dell softwares other than drivers from intel/realtek/broadcomm....etc...

i guess i could start all over from scratch again and try to pin-point exactly which driver are conflicting with avast by installing avast right after the OS and see when the crash occurs after installing each driver

Difficult to guess as none of the drivers you've mentioned should be conflicting with avast...
