That was a great experience to browse through the member photos.

We so need an off topic forum again, I think.
And perhaps someone with the patience of an oak tree to moderate it.

Hi all...

Yes, I registered in November of that year. Many, many people have been helped since that time. :)

Hi ardvark,

Thanks for reminding, yes all these postings have built me out, inspired me and also helped to inspire others, a lot of security savvy were being bred here in the avast user forums at these fountains of security related lore. The most enervating experiences were when a couple of us, experienced avast helpers with the help of eliminators cleansed a victim's machine from malcode, these were the most rewarding experiences and taught me much in what way to secure myself digitally that is. It brought me to test drive the Flock and Firefox Mozilla browsers, it brought me to join as a member in the NoScript forums and learn more about malcode and script, and it taught me to use blockers, script analyzers, hex editors, malcode browser tools, javascript unpackers, online sources, etc.. Without avast I would never have been growing into malware fighting, and the forums brought me an awful lot of digital friends: bob3160, CharleyO, Tech, good old DarthMikey, my countryman Eddy, DavidR, recently Asyn, Superhacker, Logos, YoKenny, and then a forum friend that went away, good old Kamulko, I even could respect MasterTech, despite his trolling and luring, YantoChiang, murali (growing into a wonderful programmer, yes murali, you will be), Pondus, etc. etc. Jadinolf, Xmas, etc. etc. and of course you arvark, and all those that I haven't mentioned here....

not mentioning that the data transfer procedure from the fax machine to the floppy drive was quite a technical challenge at the time, but thanks to Avast 0.4 alpha3, it worked :) and that's why and how we can still read the old threads today 8)
