I have Avast Internet Security. Can I use McAfee site advisor with this or is there something better? Thanks for your input.

Welcome to the forum honda2010.  :)

Can I use McAfee site advisor with this or is there something better?
I would suggest using an on-demand scanner like free Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (MBAM), which works well with Avast http://www.malwarebytes.org/.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello Honda 2010,

You can use it. But here at forums, people think that use of WOT (Available for IE, Firefox, Google Chrome) and Finjan (Available for IE, Firefox) are better than McAfee siteadvisor.

  • If at first you don’t succeed; call it version 1.0

Bear in mind that a lot of these programs/toolbars rely on user feedback to the manufacturer of the toolbar.
This is only as good as the intelligence/integrity of the user.

McAfee's is the only one I've used (long ago) and my impression is that there is nobody at McAfee actually monitoring the user ratings, much.

Don't rely on them. They may provide a guide; that's all. No better than, say, a Cnet user review.
I rely on the Avast Webshield, and NoScript in my browser. Works fine.
Windows 10,Windows Firewall,Firefox w/Adblock.

Ok thanks for the feedback guys. I had WOT with my Firefox I deleted it just wanted to try something different. I have malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware free for manual scanning as well. I didn't know that the McAfee was user rated like WOT but now I do.
