Click on buttons nothing happens

I have avast 5 when I click on buttons like the fix now button nothing happens or when i want to turn something on I click on turn on and nothing happens. Anyone have any Ideas thanks

Try avast repair and reboot

For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
