Avast doesn't appears in the system tray
« on: August 16, 2010, 10:48:49 PM »
OP-System. XP-Home
Avast: 4.8 prof.

After updating a new HD - not more - (by Image copy) I had to re-input the registration; no prblm so far.
But Avast doesn't appear in the system tray any more (option is picked). So I'm a little uncertain if it my cause any problems or doesn't work any more 100%.

Can you give an advice.

Can you try to repair your installation?
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair).

  • If at first you don’t succeed; call it version 1.0

Consider updating to version 5.
Support for 4 will run out, probably around the end of this year.
Windows 10,Windows Firewall,Firefox w/Adblock.
