I had an older version of AVAST and kept getting a reminder that Avast Program would expire...So I paid the 29.95 fee to update.. This new version loaded up and it is informing me that I only have a 30 Day trial version.. What Happened here?  I also have an ashAvast.EXE file on my desktop that is incomplete..

Sincerely,

Hi,

it's my pleasure to announce the general availability of a new avast program update, version 5.0.677.
You can simply update to this new version by using the built-in program updater.

Change log is here: http://www.avast.com/release-history

Thanks
Vlk

What is ancer ???

Maybe you mean answer ???

You should try Spell Check

You can't even figure out how to update your PROFILE so that helpers can offer assistance.  ;)

Go to PROFILE then Modify Profile then update your Signature: with information like my signature as this helps the helpers offer pertinent advice.

You should have a) received an email with your licence file attached or b) a link in that email to download that license file. Did you receive the License email ?

You then need to enter/apply the license to the new program, otherwise it would be still a trial version (30 days). Did you enter/apply this license ?

- Check out these knowledge-base articles for the version you have:
- Inserting the license key into: avast! Pro Antivirus Or avast! Internet Security.

Using comodo pro latest will slow down your system.

Using color makes your posts hard to read.

You do realize that at the times you were posting, PK might have been (1) asleep, (2) having family time, or (3) at work.

Although he works for Avast, his job description is not, I should imagine, full time forum helper.

Just make sure you know where you save the "license" file when you download it.

After you have downloaded the Avast License file you will then have to use use Avast to upload it into the actual program.

Just my opinion but the name of that file should be changed to something like "ALicense" rather than just the generic "License" name.

Behavior Shield is not working (Windows Ultimate, 32-bit).
Other than that, version 5.0.677 is much lighter!

According to the Help Center, it 'monitors all activity on your computer and detects and blocks any unusual activity that might indicate the presence of malware. It does this by continuously monitoring your computer's entry points using special sensors to identify anything suspicious.'
