You appear to be having many problems related to IE6 and associated functions, we have suggested on numerous occasions that IE6 is outdated, insecure and you should update to IE7 or IE8. You never know this may also have an impact on the problems you are having.

I can't understand your reluctance to update IE6.

Maybe 2oo8xcxc is using a pirated version of Windows. 

IE is used all the way through Windows so it should be at least at IE7.

Not with XP as the default version is IE6 (I think he uses XP, though not enough posts for a signature), so it won't offer IE7 or IE8 only updates for IE6 which obviously don't have any other than SP3 and security updates assuming he has SP3.
