License questions
« on: August 04, 2004, 12:33:56 PM »
I've got a question concerning the use of the avast Home edition.

Say, a doctor (or an attorney or whatever fits in this category) can use this product at home for free as long as it is for private purposes (e-mail, etc.). So far that seems clear for me. But what if she/he puts this computer (with avast installed) in his office where e.g. her/his secretary uses it for writing docs and maintaining patient's data? Will it then become a computer for making profit? Does that count as a small business in legal terms? I guess she/he has to either uninstall the product or buy an appropriate license (for the professional version), because she/he isn't a home user anymore, is that right? What would be if she/he had a laptop and would use it at home and at work?

If someone could clarify this for me, many thanks!

He must buy a (pro) license since the comp is not only used for personal things.

Besides, people like you mention make enough money so they can afford to buy Avast Pro  :D
