You don't have to reinstall, nor modify the avast5.ini.

There'll be a new VPS update shortly, fixing this bug.
This is from the same post NON gave, and that VPS update is out now (as far as I'm aware), so ensure that you have the latest virus definitions & and engines update.

Oops, sorry. I wasn't aware of it. :-X
Thanks for the correction.

@Don Gray
Very sorry for the misinformation. :'(

If you actually read what was posted you would understand that the problem did not happen to those who downloaded the update, but those who clicked update but then denied UAC (or had it time out).

This is a forum about Avast, people are going to talk about the problems they have with that software here.

Hasn't anyone ever noticed the irony in a software program intended to protect people from internet pirates calling itself avast! I figure anyone who would do this has to have a pretty good sense of humor.  ;D

To a pirate or any member of the nautical community, “avast” means to stop or desist.So what's a better  name to stop viruses than AVAST.???

Is there a way to download this language pack outside of the program? I looked for "Pirate English" under the language packs, but it is not there.

Why would you need to download outside of the program ?
The link you gave isn't to language packs but full installation packs in different languages.

You should be able to do it through the avastUI.

If it isn't in the drop down list of the avast Settings, Language, then you will have to click the Install additional languages, select Pirate Talk from the list and install it.

I downloaded it through the GUI - just wondering if it was available separately is all. I didn't realize the language pack tab was full installs. Thanks for the clarification.
