+1 I'm not saying goodbye to Avast, but I was and still am amazed by the whole non-sense with the pirate thing etc... they might be trying to sell the product to 6 years olds... I mean this isn't even funny, but completely pathetic, and ridiculous.

ps: this said, watch the language, I agree with you, but no need to be rude, there are enough words to explain yourself about that okay?

Some just don't seem to get the relation between "avast!" as product and word "avast". Besides, no one forced you into anything, and you can still switch back to normal language anytime you want.

There are people here with a sense of humor that is much greater than a 6 year old but then there are others that don't.

I never got any popup but I did install the language and try it out. I switched back to English within 15 minutes though. I see nothing wrong with Avast! taking part in what is a growing Internet phenomenon. I suspect that it will attract more new users than repel existing ones.  If you don't want to take part, fine, but it's no reason to ditch a fine product like we have.

On a serious note, I had changed the voice over for my daughter when the pirate voice was offered, so far we have had almost every one come here and listen to it, while it seems to perk up interest in Avast and security in general and add a fun element for those who 'Want it' it does have its drawbacks........ I'm getting fed up going to the avast page and playing the voices !
Another thing is I cant seem to talk normal non pirate speak anymore arrrg ! Jim lad...
