avast has virtualised a program..how do I unvirtualise it.
« on: August 01, 2018, 07:11:20 PM »
This may seem like a noob question, but I've been searching for the settings fo4r about half an hour, so I'm obviously doing something wrong.

...also.. I don't have the sandbox component, in case that matters

Ok, I guess it's not a simple question as I thought if no-one else is able to answer it.

I need this question answered, Yakuza 0 only came out today and this program has blocked it from starting.

So I'm going to have to start bumping this... It could possibly become annoying, for both you and me, however as this is the only form of support for free avast, I'll have to have it answered here.

BTW AVAST.. Your capchas are a nearly unreadable mess.

What exactly does "Avast has virtualized a program" mean? Do you see such a notification or...?

@mchain There is no screenshot available as I was notified of "Avast has virtualised this program" by pop up, that I usually manage to intercept and hit "Do not virtualise in future" but I missed it this time and I cannot find any setting within the Avast program that pertains virtualisation. The closest I've managed to find is about sandboxing but I use free and have never had access to that component.

@igor.. yeah.. it's a pop up I usually get when opening a new program for the first time. Bottom right of screen "Avast has virtualised..."

And then the application comes up with a green border around the window, the unfortunate effect in this case is that the game won't start because "Cannot open SteamAPI"

ok, People, I guess I have an apology to make.

It would seem that I'm exactly as dumb as I thought I was in my first post. I've been getting this popup for a while now.. and I've ALWAYS seen it as Avast, however it would seem that I've been under some kind of delusion, as I now find that I am completely wrong.

The popup does in fact belong to comodo.. why I've suffered this delusion for so long, I have no idea.

All that's left really, is to apologise for littering the the forum with a donut post... and vow ^^ to ask only for your help when I actually get some trouble from Avast and not a differenent program entirely.

*creeps towards the door with a big red face*
