I am not computer savy at all, I used poor judgment and opened a zip file with a password that was from someone I trust turns out that person did not send it to me and they deleted the one they received on their computer.  How could I look to see if someone got my information off my computer or is using my computer to send spam.... :-\

I'm afraid you cannot say what happened when you got infected.
Right now, I'd suggest to thoroughly scan your system and remove any existing infection.
