private storage, what do you exactly mean?

sandbox storage: C:\## aswSnx private storage (hidden by default, this can be disabled by snxConfig tool: http://public.avast.com/~kurtin/snxConfig.exe)

other folders used by avast:
avast program folder: C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5
avast data folder: C:\Documents and Users\All Users\Alwil Software\Avast5

Any chance to ever see a "Sandbox Explorer" or "Sandbox Viewer" tool. A kind of interface to see what files and registry entries were created inside the sandbox. No need to be able to extract files from it, just see what was newly created in it and by which application (maybe) would be helpful. This way it would be easier to check what programs in the sandbox are doing. For example if you run something suspicious in it and be able to see if your suspicions were correct. Because sometimes you don't see anything but something malicious was going on in the background.

It sounds like you chose the "always run in sandbox" option from the right-click menu?

That makes a padlock appear next to the desktop icon.

If so, it should be sandboxed from the desktop every time you run it normally.

You can check if it is working by running it from desktop, then check under Real Time Shields>> Process Virtualization in Avast!'s UI.  Anything currently virtualized should be on the list shown in that sub-section.

All dates are approximate, but based on the interval between avast4 and avast5, I would say the schedule for avast6 would be somewhere around January 2020 ;D
