Logon process initialization failed
« on: October 01, 2010, 08:00:40 PM »
 >:(

I have recently installed the latest version of Avast Pro on my laptop and it comes up with this error when I try to start-up that is commented all over the internet and in the Avast forums but nobody has posted a solution.

It has been reported from 2008 to 2010. Surely by now this has been brought to the attention of the Avast support teams.

I have been using Avast for over two years on my PC with no issues.

Avast technical support (or anyone) what is the issue with this error and what is the fix.

Thank you.

have you tried using the avast removal tool ?
first remove avast 5 then avast 4 and install avast 5 again ?

yes I tried all that, thanks.

I uninstalled the full version of Avast and installed the free version and everything works fine.

I assume then, that it is related to an incompatibility between Vista and some additional feature available in the full version. Perhaps a setting in the ful version.

Avast technical support,if you monitor this forum can you please comment.
