Hi, just read this.

Windows XP SP2 Gold Released To MSDN

Time: 17:58 EST/22:58 GMT | News Source: ActiveWin.com | Posted By: Byron Hinson

Windows XP Service Pack is now available for download for MSDN subscribers. This is the gold version that was released a short while ago to beta testers.

Looks like its started to roll.

Obviously there will be some form of staged release otherwise xx millions users of XP will be trying to download it at once.

Me, I'm going to hang back for a little while and let the dust clear and listen for the inevitable problems that it will cause with some software compatibility. It has already been mentioned that some software will have problems with the new security enhancements.

Oh and another thing, it's likely to be a huge download, so those of us on dialup will have to look for other options, such as Order Windows XP Service Pack 2 on CD form Microsoft.

Yup,already using SP2. I love Security Center which warns you if Firewall/Antivirus is terminated :)

This will ofcourse make some confusion if you're using my AEC which can disable avast! temporarely and you'll get popup that antivirus software is not running.
Don't worry its normal regarding this AEC function under SP2.

Yeah, I installed SP2 few minutes ago,...everything is up and running.
No problems. Avast is fully recognized by the Security Center,....

I think it will be added in windows update next week,...so you can have the languaged required to you OS.

http://134.129.142.12/WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe

I found the link on a website.  Bèta-testers who have been testing SP2 for a while got the first hands on the FINAL version from Microsoft.
So they started to distribute,...  ;D

However, according to a mail the bèta testers received: SP2 will be put on Windows Update V4/V5 on 9/08/2004 :),.... so even if the link doesn't work anymore,... in 24 hours you will have it anyways :)

When you have SP2 you have automatically V5 of Windows Update.

Here i have a screen that proves Avast is 100% compatible with SP2

You meant 1200GB, right? ;) :)

What is the connection like?
Who's your provider etc? How big is your facility? Do you have fire proctection? Power supply backups? Etc... :)

There is no 1.2tb limit to bandwidth transfers. You could theoritically transfer more than that in a given month with the default 10mbps pipe, approximately about 3.25tb one way.

Basically what is said in their plan is that the first 1.2tb worth of transfers per month would be on them and anything beyond that, you pay at the rate of 50cents per gb.

Once your server hit the 1.2tb, it would not functioning or come out with some cheesy screen which states that the server would no longer be accepting anymore transfer till next month. Everything would continue as normal.
