Avast Free is not allowing me to fully interact with website..blocking upload.

I have the Avast free edition, using Windows Vista, IE 8.  I have an online college class and the Avast system is locking me from submitting my completed work.  it will allow me to do the work, but when I go to submit, it only records that I attempted the assignment.

avast should not block anything as it is only a scanner.
Which was your previous antivirus before avast?

- Ensure that all remnants of AVG are gone - AVG8.x (or higher) Remover, download tool from here, http://www.avg.com/download-tools there is a 32bit and 64 bit windows version, ensure you use the correct one.
