Avast Update Failure
« on: September 30, 2010, 04:18:05 AM »
Here's a full chronology of what happened:
I came home today and opened my laptop. Avast was updating, but then my PC froze and I had to restart. When the PC booted up, Windows began to update and I had to start it again. When I finally got back to my desktop, Avast said that the update had failed. I went to try updating again, but then I received this message:
Last encountered error: The package is broken.
What does this mean? How can I fix this? I'm not extremely knowledgeable with computers, so I may need a bit more explanation for whatever you may suggest.

Generally, it's a temporary problem with the connection.
Try to update again. If it fails, boot and try again.
It's not that problematic.
