can not send in Outlook Epress
« on: October 09, 2010, 05:02:45 AM »
I have Outlook Express set up with four email accounts, all four accounts can send. Three of the four can send. The newest account fails on send with the following message:

An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'LisaMJohnson@LMJAttorney.com', Server: 'mail.lisamalmerjohnson.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '421 Cannot connect to SMTP server 72.18.135.96 (72.18.135.96:465), connect error 10061', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 421, Error Number: 0x800CCC67

If I turn off Real Time Shields > Mail Shield > Scan outbound messages

everything works fine. I can't find any settings to adjust or anything that seems to apply in the knowledge base or hear in this forum. Anybody have any ideas? If push comes to shove I can leave the scan outbound messages off, but I would prefer to have it on.

thanks

Do these email accounts require SSL connections, because it looks like that is how avast is trying to send them ?

If they don't, check the avastUI, Real-time Shields, Mail Shield, Expert Settings, SSL Accounts and ensure that the Encryption setting is set to None for those SMTP accounts which don't require it.
