BSOD with Avast Pro
« on: October 09, 2010, 05:50:20 AM »
i decided to test out avast pro, and since i installed it, i got frequent BSOD's from various tasks such as simply normal browsing or even connecting to a wireless network, i was wondering if there are any known issues with the pro version and BSOD's from it?

i have since installed the free version again which works absolutely fine, only the pro version seemed to cause these frequent BSOD's.

  • If at first you don’t succeed; call it version 1.0

I wonder if the sandbox (or other feature) in the pro version could be conflicting with the Comodo firewall?
(Or vice-versa, if you prefer.  ;D)

maybe, but i have purely the firewall in comodo functioning, D+ and sandbox are both disabled, i fugred its the avast sandbox thats causing the BSOD's when compared to avast free (i doubt the script shield would cause something like this)

When I experienced a BSOD, I sent my minidumps to Petr to analyze. He's nice and he responded pretty quickly. :)
His email is kurtin@avast.com

firzen771, I'd like to receive (kurtin@avast.com) a couple of latest minidumps (\Windows\Minidump folder) to see why you got those bsods.

Thanks.
