iam new here and new user of Avast,nice to meet u all  .

ihv 1 question about netreg.exe,it seams run about less then 30 sec duration in task manager.iam thinking it that a virus/malware etc??
when i google it it pointed to a bad thing
what netreg.exe anyway?

It appears to be a worm, http://www.systemlookup.com/search.php?type=filename&client=malwaresearch-ff&search=netreg.exe and http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/netreg.exe-7377.html.

Try a search for its location, if you can find it, send the sample to avast for analysis.

Send the sample to virus (at) avast (dot) com zipped and password protected with the password in email body, a link to this topic might help and undetected malware in the subject.

Or
Send the sample/s to avast as a Undetected Malware:
Open the chest and right click in the Chest and select Add, navigate to where you have the sample and add it to the chest (see image). Once in the chest, right click on the file and select 'Submit to virus lab...' complete the form and submit, the file will be uploaded during the next update.


If you haven't already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it and report the findings (it should product a log file).

• 1.  MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (MBAM), On-Demand only in free version http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/malwarebytes/mbam-setup.exe, right click on the link and select Save As or Save File (As depending on your browser), save it to a location where you can find it easily later.

Don't worry about reported tracking cookies they are a minor issue and not one of security, allow SAS to deal with them though. - See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie.
