GMER Scan?
« on: October 12, 2010, 07:22:50 PM »
Is it normal for a GER scan to take plus 60mins with 100% CPU usage & still unfinished?  :-X

Regards!

Not sure how compatable GMER is with avast, have to wait for someone else to comment on that one. Why dont you use the rootkit scanner in avast

Your GMER log will be huge and undecipherable by an average user. GMER used to allow users to email the log to them for evaluation, not sure if they still do.

Before running GMER, you should go off-line and disable your security programs as they may conflict and/or prevent GMER the access it needs to hidden files and processes. This will also speed up the GMER scan a bit.

Also, please correct the topic title to "GMER" in your first post so that anyone searching the board will find this thread.
