Edition avast 5 free.

Scanned the "k lite mega codec pack", link:  http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_mega_codec_pack.htm
Got a message about "Scan result, the file is password protected". Is that a problem, or is the file ok?
Are there other usable codec packs?
Thanks.

That isn't an alarm but a notification that the file cant be scanned, nothing unusual for this kind of software applying some form of protection.

When you try to install it the application would have to unpack it and then avast can scan the contents (depending on file type).
