Redirect problems resulting in viruses?
« on: November 04, 2010, 07:24:03 AM »
Have had problem with redirecting within firefox for several days. Disabling java-script has helped while I researched what to do...eventually making my way here. Something is evidently changing my DNS? and restricting my internet/MS Outlook access as well. I ran a boot time scan but found nothing. Malwarebytes only opens if I change the name of the exe file, but then it will not update and does not find any malware. I tested with Avast antirootkit, found nothing. Ran Hijack this, should I upload log here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try this

Kaspersky TDSSkiller  http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/solutions?qid=208280684

when done try updating and running Malwarebytes again, and post the log if success

The TDSSKiller appears to have worked! It found C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\ftdisk.sys and cured it on reboot. I ran Malwarebytes, which successfully updated. The log is below. Thank you very much!! Please let me know if I need to do anything else.

Your welcome........and you don`t have to do anything else, unless you have more problems!
