Hi all!
Recently avastupdate has been trying to install a driver called avasttestservice. I can find no file referenced for it. Does anyone know what avasttestservice is?
(using free avast 5.0.677 with WINXP Home edition fully updated)
thanks.winndb

Are you sure you're using a legit avast?
I never heard about such service name...
Edited: Igor made me remember of the registry key test...

Using a behavior blocker of some kind?
avast! setup uses such a key - just to test that it's got enough access rights into the corresponding registry area; no driver or service is installed.

Thanks for the replies. The Avast files installed are from the verified web-site and digitally signed.
Regards, winndb.
