Urgent Feature Request/Bug
« on: August 12, 2004, 10:40:38 PM »

Please, please, please do not let a double click on a task (especially a deployment task) allow it to execute without at least a confirmation!  Needless to say it's going to be a long night.....

If you have a deployment task set to run on all computers (default) and you double click on it it will deploy the avast client to all of the computers in the computer catalog.  I had mistakenly thought it would bring up the properties of that task not execute it.  Normally I drag the task to a user created group in the computer catalog to execute it.  Hence in the middle of the day I initiated a mass deployment to our computer systems by mistake.  Not a nice thing to do to your users.

I'm currently on vacation but... you're right. We should at least add a confirmation...

I hope your network survived the traffic.. :-\

Thanks

OK, double click on a task in the admin console now brings up its properties instead of starting it, and there's an option in the popup menu to start the task.

Thanks for the tip.

Thanks, your future users will be very appreciative of that fact even though they won't know it.  ;D

You do realize of course that the only reason I'm testing Avast so thoroughly is so that I can post here enough times to rise above the Jr Member status?   ;D
