Avast and Lexmark
« on: November 16, 2010, 03:28:03 AM »
I have a Lexmark x2600 and it seems like every time i download the new version of avast free, the printer stops wanting to scan, print, or work in any way whatsoever. Has anyone else had issues with this or is it just me, and if so, could ya tell me how to fix the problem. I like the program, but I have to have my printer so if I have to choose, well there really isn't a choice.

Have (or did) you another Anti-Virus installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?

The reason I ask is I have seen this before where another AV or remnants of one has blocked access to the printer.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Also check your firewall to make sure it is not blocking anything related to your printer, as I have seen this before as well.

I use a Lexmark X2450 and never had any such problems.
