Win32:Trojan-gen. {Other} Namings?
« on: August 12, 2004, 08:00:10 AM »
There have been files on my computer that are detected Win32:Trojan-gen. {Other}. But how does Avast name these?
Is files detected as Win32:Trojan-gen. {Other} some kind of heuristics performed by Avast or do they just fit in the "Others" category?
Should I send those files to virus AT avast.com for further detection?

Thanks! ;)

There's a big group of malware detected as Win32:Trojan-gen {something}. The difference between these "Trojan-gens" and other viruses are in the way they are detected; however, it's not the kind of heuristic you may expect - so when the malware is detected this way, it will be detected this way in the future, too. So, there's probably no need of submitting them.
