After your boot scan, please check the following:

I noticed that when you did your MBAM scan, you are using an outdated version of MBAM.  Version 1.50 is out now.  You should probably update if it hasn't already done so on it's own since you have the Pro version or verify that you have the latest version by clicking MBAM > "About" tab (tab on far right).

boot scan pending - MBAM now updated: w/ thanks ;)

boot-time scan is 'no virus found' -

do not know how to copy&paste from Avast though.

I do not think you can copy/paste from the Avast! UI, only take a screenshot.

I see a question that has not been asked yet.

Is Carphone Warehouse your ISP? (Internet Service Provider).  Or do you have AOL UK? (if that still applies, I know CW bought Aol UK a few years ago)  As it is a legitimate company, this might be nothing to worry over.

Thanks. Yes my ISP is AOL UK - maybe that is the answer to the mysery re. the CW pop-up?

Yeah can't be 100% certain as I am not a customer.  But since you are, easiest place to get an answer would be directly from them (your ISP)

Yeah, what Gargamel said, plus it's weird because their site (if I'm looking at the right one) looks like they're a reseller for phones and broadband service, but it doesn't look like they're the actual ISP.

But, it could be some advertising software that came with purchasing a broadband service from that site.

No problem, glad it was likely a simple, harmless thing.

Enjoy Aol......if such a thing is possible  ;)

@ a_vast,

If your ISP is an aol reseller, just be careful with the adware that aol is putting out and the almost daily "updates," which are really adware and more graphics taking up more memory.  If you have broadband/cable/DSL, I would suggest that if you want to stick with aol, to use aol webmail instead so you do not get this and go through your browser instead.  Also aol is knows for adding on toolbars and extensions in IE, so have a good 2-way third-party firewall for protection to keep the creeps out.  ;D

Let us know if you have any questions.  Thanks.
