« on: December 05, 2010, 05:57:48 PM »
I can not get onto the iternet from my laptop. Everytime I try I get a message reading " Gdstyey has stopped working." I tried to open my Avast with no luck. Whe I right click on the Windows Security Center icon, a window does opn up & shows my Avast as turned off. I have tried repeatedly to pen it with no luck. So, I then ent into my Contro Panel & tried to unistall Avast, still nothing. Please help mewith a solution to this.
Thanks,

Welcome to the forum. :)
It would help if you gave us more information such as the exact error message
or a screenshot of the error message.
What operating System, what other security programs are you running ???
What antivirus program where you using before you installed avast! ???
How did you remove it ???
Etc, etc, etc.
The more information you supply, the faster we can solve your problem.

Thank you so much for the fast response. I now have everything fixed. I went into safe mode & did a system restore.
