I know that I do this a lot, but I'm going to suggest checking your boot hard drive (either the samsung or the WD, but my finger would be pointing at the WD).

If you're not finding anything in scans, getting weird errors, and your system is extremely slow, it usually means that a hard drive is failing.

If you boot from the samsung, use these utilities to test it: http://www.samsung.com/global/business/hdd/support/utilities/Support_HUTIL.html  (get the ISO file, burn to a CD with http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download, then boot from that CD and follow directions).

If you boot from the WD: Download the data lifeguard utility from this site (after inputting info about what drive you have) http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?lang=en


The files that couldn't be moved to the chest might be corrupt.

Or, a fix for SearchProtocolHost can be found on MS's Technet.  It is suggested to just disable the service.

Well, you could, but it would defeat the purpose.

The drive checking utilities run by themselves, in memory, so as not to lock any files on the hard drive.

That's why you need to boot from the CD or floppy images, so the hard drives are free to be scanned fully.

Ok went to Samsung downloaded iso file used imgburn to burn to disc and ran it.
Command prompt pops up and immediately closes it says
Abnormal Program Termination

You didn't follow directions.

You need to burn the CD, reboot, and boot from the CD, not your hard drives.

Right I read the directions right on the site and burnt as directed, rebooted with cd in drive and did not even give the option to boot from cd. .

Then your BIOS is not setup to boot from the CD first.  You'll have to either change the boot order in your BIOS, or if your computer supports it, you can hit a key while the computer goes through POST to bring up a boot menu.  On Dell computers, it's F12, but it's different depending on the manufacturer.

LE: I couldn't tell what type of computer you had while typing this, but now that I'm done, I can see your signature with the E-Machines model.  I looked on their website for information, but I can't seem to find anything.  A google search suggested F10, but that could be wrong.  I'm still looking.

Ok its loaded... But there are alot of tools on this program including wiping my disc... Not sure which i should use to test my drive.

I Think you may be right scythe. ITs an old drive and it might just be failing. I am in the process of installing another drive, thankfully I was already installing a 320 GB WD Caviar Blue so that works out in my favor thanks for helping me indentify the problem.
