Updated last night. Boot and even the GUI was much more responsive. Memory usage was unbelievably low as usual. Working great. Hopefully I won't run into issues but if I do, well that's the point to beta :D

So far so good, system is even booting faster :)

Just one thing I noticed :

Last night the BB analyzed CCleaner and was "blocked" ( in fact it was "allowed" because that is the default option ), but now the BB doesn't analyze CCleaner anymore.

Edit : It seems that I was wrong. With BB on "Ask" it's analyzing CCleaner and asking me what to do( I choose "Allow" for now ).

Edit 2 : And now, after re-booting, it doesn't analize CCleaner anymore :-\

Tech, is this issue (memory leak / high CPU usage) same as yours?
Just noticed... thanks to dual-core CPU I didn't even notice this.
Maybe the cause is Behav Shield, maaaaaany blocked items.... :'(

Updated: Memory / CPU usage just dropped dramatically and returned to normal... ???

yeah definitely no memory leak here (RAM is as usual), no freezing either, boot times are okay and on a side note the setup from scratch was as fast as it use to on 5.0. remains the BSOD when uninstalling Opera; the guys at Opera obviously don't even want to hear about it (well there's not much they could do) as that's an Avast driver issue.

ps: Avastsvc using 7500 kb here, couldn't be lower.

I really haven't noticed much of a difference in RAM usage, image1.

Same as above, no noticeable difference, I don't sit with a stopwatch to see if there are any differences, but no noticeable difference in XP Pro SP3.

Still zero recording of any blocked items in the behaviour shield report file, a real pain after the number of complaints about this in 5.0. The new BS Expert Settings, Trusted Processes also doesn't work.

I upgraded to the Beta (free version) and checked the one thing that has been giving me fits with prior versions - The outlook plug-in crashes Outlook 2007 whenever outlook is invoked (started) from an external program (like explorer).  If outlook is already running when invoked, there is no problem because the plug-in is already loaded. But if outlook must start, the process of trying to load the plug-in causes it to crash.

Try it if you run outlook 2007. In explorer and with outlook NOT running, browse your hard drive and find a file - any file - and right click, select "send to", then "email recipient".  Outlook will try to start and create the email message with attachment, but will instead pop an error window indicating Outlook has stopped working.

Disable the Avast plug-in in outlook... it works fine.

Run Outlook before trying to do the "send to", and it works fine.

Note:  The first time I tried this after installing 5.1.798 (and rebooting), it worked.  But subsequent times it failed.  Not sure if it always works OK the first time after a reboot... I'll check.

I'm not sure if this is an outlook issue or an avast issue, but it sure would be nice to get resolved.  Its been out there for a year or more.
