I am using outlook express and so far it's the best email client I can find that does eeverything I want for free.

Just run the mail protection wizzard if you haven't already done so. Avast will take care of your email after that.

Easy,

There are a few other "independent" email clients that are really good with full features like spam blocking.

Pegasus
Mozilla Thunderbird
Eudora Light
Firefox.............are among to top ones.

These can be found here:
www.snapfiles.com
www.wantdbest.com
www.nonags.com

I normally use OE but have found Thunderbird a very fast and stable email client with good spam blocking filter.  Takes no effort to set up or learn.

Pegasus takes a bit of work to set up and learn but is great for multiple accounts.

Firefox and Eudora are ok but not my top choices.

Good luck

Unless I mistaken (happens often), Firefox is a browser only.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Besides what Eddy suggested, try to use a Script Blocker (there are some freewares suggested on 'links' in my signature) or, if you have, use avast! Professional version which has a script blocker module  ;)

I think here will be the best place to put my little question about using AVAST! and Thunderbird.

First of all, i use K9 to keep my mail box free of spam.  So , i need to change some of my configuration in TB to him understand what´s going on ... .   ;)

But (we always have a but  ::) )  i think AVAST! does not like TB because it can´t control my accounts. I read Technical´s avast4.ini support but it didn´t work.

What i´m supposed to do?  ??? ???

I tried this:

[MailScanner]
DefaultPopServer=pop.mail.yahoo.com.br          (i tried it)
DefaultSmtpServer=smtp.mail.yahoo.com.br      ( i tried it)
ShowTrayIcon=1
UseDefaultSmtp=0
AutoSetProtection=1
PopListen=127.0.0.1:9999   ( i tried this one)
SmtpListen=127.0.0.1:9999  ( i tried  too )

The port 9999  is from my K9 and i need to configure my incoming server like it:

Server name = 127.0.0.1
User name = pop.mail.yahoo.com.br/110/myname
Port: 9999

And my outgoing :

Server name = smtp.mail.yahoo.com.br
User name = myname

Thanks !!!!
