(Solved) Avast Free & Sandboxie
« on: December 08, 2010, 04:49:18 PM »
I'm just starting to get acquanted with Sandboxie.  Noticed that Avast is a little slower on boot-up to get all the shields running and show secured with Sandboxie installed.  Is this normal behavior?

I use both together and never really noticed a slowdown. You might try making avast load after other services to see if that makes a difference. Go to settings > troubleshooting and check the box that says to load avast services after other system services.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.  Got interested in sandboxing when the grand kids made a mess of my computer over Thanksgiving.  Setting them up a seperate account and only allowing internet access/downloads in the sandbox sounds like a good mitigation approach.  Easier to dump the sandbox than restore from a system image. lol

Hi, I don't notice any slowdown using avast free and sandboxie. :)

No problems with me either, and I am using a computer with 512 RAM...

I do not have any slow downs here...

See my computer specs. below.

I set Avast to load last and that solved the shield start up issues.  Under normal use, everything runs fine.  I torture my test machine anyway and keep a fresh disc image just in case.

Thanks for the info.  Sandboxie looks like a winner as soon as I figure out all the configuration toys.
