How to enable ICMP Ping via the Firewall?
« on: December 09, 2010, 09:07:15 PM »
Hello, I have avast! Internet Security and want to know how I can enable ICMP Pings. When I try to edit packet rules, when I click OK, then check back on the list, it blanks out and changes itself to Allow every protocol on every port. Help?

Hi Nickmman,welcome to the Forum.
The evangelists (experienced users) will possibly want more information. Like what version of AIS are you using?
Also, many of them are quite busy addressing problems experienced by users of the new beta versions. I'm sure someone will reply as soon as possible.
Thanks for your patience ;)

Hi,

There is a bug with the UI (user interface) for the Packet Rules. The rules themselves are fine but the UI just shows them incorrectly. For now, just wait a few for the new program update. It shouldn't take too long to be released, as the Beta is out.
