If you had waited for the stable then you would not have to reconfigure avast as it would install over the top.
This is the peril's of beta testing, if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen  :)
So are you saying is always safe to instal,(official) versions over the top?

Anyway, if in v6 its possible already reset the config, i honestlly cant understand why we users cant sinply save a litle config file in order to use it in each new version :-\

Could someone confirm if the only way to export avast config from version to version is instal over the top and if is it safe tu use this proccedure?

You could back up the ini files, I have done that with a recent install that I messed up. The only problem that I can see is that avast5.ini may not be called that, but it is then a simple rename...

Normal program update's are usually safe to install over the top but with major version changes it can be better to do clean installs.
Vlk usually indicate's in the first post of a new version if it is safe to install over the top or if a clean install will be required as he did for the 5.1 to 6 beta update.
