avast! problem with windows media player

after installing avast! antivirus on my computer.....windows media player 9 stops working and also the command services.msc dosen't seem to work....if i disable avast! protection all seems to work. how i have to set up avast! to make things work right?
thanks for help.
p.s. i'm sorry for my bad english ...i'm italian :)

thanks for responding :) i've read the tread you linked but i can't format my pc at this time:| and i think that reinstalling windows over the copy i'm running won't be a gret idea ;) :| i'm trying other solution but still nothing.

Update Windows Media Player to version 10 and see if it works  ;)
Btw, do you use any other player?
Maybe some file assotiations could be due to this...
