I think you probably can re-register it after the expiry date.

Welcome to the forums, anju   :)

A few weeks before the 4/1/2011 date, avast will start reminding you that you need to re-register avast for another year of use. With avast 5, you can do it through the GUI.
It will still be free to use but it needs to be re-registered after every year of use.

If you're using the Avast free version here a direct link to keep and you can re-registered again for another whole year http://www.avast.com/registration-free-antivirus.php

It rather depends on a) what version of avast you are using, free/pro/ais and b) the date format used on your system, the info below assumes that you are using avast free.

System date format:
If it is mm/dd/yyyy then you have plenty of time and can follow CharleyO's suggestion.

If it is dd/mm/yyyy then you are inside the 14 days and should be able to re-register, through the avastUI, Maintenance, Registration section; or off-line registration method as SpeedyPC mentions.

You are right as it could be dd/mm/yyyy when I took it to be mm/dd/yyyy.

Thanks, David.   :)

You're welcome, date formats are always an issue, when we don't know what format is used.
