Avast program drops ADSL internet connection

Has anybody experience that the AVAST program seems to disconnect your  internet connection.  I have AVAST home  installed with windows XP home editon, I have noticed it with a stock standard  XP install and same after SP1 installed, Still the same with SP2 installed

You mean avast disconnects your ADSL connection?  
Well, I don't think avast has this power  

Are you experiencing trouble just after boot, any time, from time to time...?
Do you use a proxy filter?
Did you check if avast settings (Connections) were right?
